In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds,
The Beneficent, the Merciful.
Owner of the Day of Judgment,
Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help.
Guide us on the straight path,
The path of those whom Thou hast favored;
Not (the path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray.

Ahadith

Hadrat `Abdullah Ibn Mas`ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "The person who asks blessings upon me abundantly, will be nearest to me on the Day of Judgment." (Tirmidhi)

Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "If somebody hears my name, he should ask blessings upon me. When a person asks one blessing upon me, Allah (The Glorified and the Exalted) sends ten blessings upon him, forgives him ten sins, and raises him ten degrees (in Paradise)." (Ahmad, an-Nasai)

    The Noble Birth of Rasulullah

By: Irshaad Rashid - April 2014
Toronto, Canada

Praise be to Allah the Glorified
Infinitely He doth abide
And salawat upon His Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

On his Family: the Purified
And those who saw and testified
In the Messengership of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

And the scholars who became qualified
And the teachers by whom they were certified
A sacred link to our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

And may the secret be sanctified
Of Imam al-Habshi who versified
The mawlid of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

In pure loins he would reside
And the noor shone far and wide
Shimmering from the Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Bibi Amina became the bride
Of `Abdullah Quraysh's pride
The parents of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

With sijjeel birds were supplied
And that year would coincide
The blessed birth of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam

Virtuous women at her bedside
Blessed souls and those wide-eyed
And Angels to welcome the Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

An uncle on his father's side
Freed a slave when notified
Of the delivery of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

The fire of Fars it did subside
And the Lake of Sawa dried
At the coming of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Strikes against the jinn that spied
At heaven's gates they were denied
At the advent of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Palace walls shook petrified
And an army would forever divide
At the arrival of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

There's more accounts one could provide
But all these signs they signified
The status of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Sent with truth and verified
With wonders that left the norms defied
The miracles of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Some mocked with words both mean and snide
They winked and mockery was implied
Towards Allahís most Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

But he was patience personified
With two stones around his stomach tied
To quell the hunger of a Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

With the Sacred Law his deeds complied
With Ihsan his deeds were beautified
The divinely selected Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

The white Buraq would be his ride
When introduced it humbly shied
Before the Beloved Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

The horizon was its every stride
With the stars that night he vied
To the Lote Tree went our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

To dissuade the faithful, opponents tried
As-Siddiq said - the Prophet never lied
And he remained true to the Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Then a brotherhood was solidified
And how the hearts were unified!
Under the banner of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Then against oppression he turned the tide
On his Lord he constantly relied
The Chosen One: our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

He made the people dignified
And their love for him intensified
May our love grow for the Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Just like the palm trunk that sighed
The Companions wept as it cried
In longing for the Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

He cleansed the Ka'bah from inside
From idols of those who belied
The Prophethood of our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

On a Day when there's nowhere to hide
Some will say I wish that I'd
Taken a path with the Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Their case the Reckoner will decide
The pens have been lifted, the ink has dried
We seek the shafa`ah of our Noble Guide (Amin!)
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

Was it not for our sake he cried?
To which his Lord Most High replied
He would not disappoint His Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

When over the Judgement God will preside
With the praiseworthy station identified
Will be our leader and Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

With whom God is pleased and satisfied
May our hearts and tongues keep occupied
With salawat upon our Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

May Allah's blessings be multiplied
On the one whose character exemplified
The Book He revealed to His Noble Guide
Muhammad Sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam

THE FIRST SALAT

His Sincerity to Allah
The Glorified and Exalted

Ya Allah! You are One in Your Every Act
Essence and Attributes; an unquestionable fact
On the one whose adherence to Your Book was exact
Send blessings and peace - he never slacked
In Prayer he stood till his skin had cracked
He made hijrah 'long many a stony tract
Whom shayatin could never distract
Sayyidina Muhammad who handled with tact
Situations not once did he overreact
Overflowing forgiveness he never lacked
In whose life Islam has been left intact
Each piece from the clear to the abstract
So many to the Way his words still attract
For what's from the heart will leave an impact,
And on his Kin and Companions who supported and backed
Allah's Chosen One when the enemy attacked
Though against them at times the odds seemed stacked
With Allah and His Messenger they honored their pact

Amin

THE SECOND SALAT

His Participation in a Pact for Justice

Ya Rahimu Ya Rahman
Send peace and blessings greater than
The number of letters read from the Qur'an
On Sayyidina Muhammad waladi Adnan
Who partook in a beautiful pact that began
In the house of `Abdullah ibn Jud`an
To unite in justice for every man
Regardless of origin, tribe or clan
Who mentioned after the years did span
He would still act if called to honor this plan,
And on those with him who endured the ban
His Family and Companions who never ran
From their pledge such as Abu Bakr, `Umar, `Uthman
`Ali and his family - the people of Ihsan

Amin

THE THIRD SALAT

His Placement of the Black Stone

O Lord we worship You Alone
Send peace and blessings on the one who is known
As al-Amin - when the tempers had grown
And the clans fought to place the Black Stone
Each one claiming the right as their own
And just as contending groups are prone
Aggressive and harsh became the tone
But before the strands of civil strife were sewn
For an arbitrator a war they chose to postpone
He united the clans and his wisdom was shown,
And on his Kin and Companions, O Lord of the Throne

Amin

THE FOURTH SALAT

His Lofty Other-worldly Aspiration

O Allah by Your Greatest Name
Send blessings on the Shimmering Light who came
With the message of love for the world to proclaim
By the number of trials that he overcame
And his each and every noble aim
Sayyidina Muhammad who never sought fame
While his honor, some tried to tarnish and maim
He desired to save them from Hell Fire's Flame
And peace, on his Kin and Companions the same
May it make our love for him more than a claim

Amin

THE FIFTH SALAT

His Inviting to the Truth

O Allah with Your Name we begin,
By the number of times the planets spin
Send peace to Sayyidina Muhammadin
Whose call to Allah was genuine
For each to turn away from sin
Regardless of background or color of skin
Over the ego he called us to win
And taught us and guided us to the way therein
He invited the people he invited the jinn
And his striving in calling never wore thin
And blessings, and as well as upon his Kin
And Companions who purified themselves from within
In You ya Allah our hopes we pin
For deliverance on the Day laid bare is the Shin

Amin

THE SIXTH SALAT

His Commitment to Allah
The Glorified and Exalted

O Allah as much as the sands
Send blessings and peace that forever expands
On the one who stood up to Quraysh's demands
Sayyidina Muhammad - they threatened with reprimands
And offered him kingship over their tribes and bands
But not even the sun and moon in his hands
Would have ceased him from preaching Allah's commands,
And upon his Kin and Companions, O Lord of the Lands

Amin

THE SEVENTH SALAT

His Migration from Makkah to Madinah

O our Lord most venerated
From Whom all else originated
And with Whom none can be equated
Send blessings and peace on the one who migrated
For Your sake to Madina the Illuminated
By the amount the Ka'bah is circumambulated
Times the number of what You've created
And the amount of good deeds he's accumulated

In the Cave of Hira he meditated
On Your Signs he contemplated
No man or thing is God-incarnated
And about him none exaggerated
He is a man but from men differentiated
Whose excellent example is imitated
And whose blessed life is emulated
Sayyidina Muhammad we are obligated
To love him, yet for some ill-fated
With rust-stained hearts contaminated
Puffed up with arrogant-pride inflated
The belov'd of God and his message they hated
That with Allah none is associated

With his hijra, the start of our calendar is dated
With Rabi`ul Awwal and Safar it is correlated
Its story stirs souls that become stagnated
In it courage is illustrated
Determination demonstrated
For many it was dangerously complicated
Their wealth left behind wrongfully confiscated
Sacrifice, the journey necessitated

It's mentioned in the Qur'an and narrated
In Hadiths, like the message he articulated
That if Allah and His Messenger motivated
One's hijra, then for that they'll be compensated
Its chain of transmission authenticated

On the Hijrah our scholars have commentated
On its subtleties they have elaborated
Its significance is known and never debated
But out of love, allow it to be reiterated
And its events and wonders enumerated
With esteem and reverence incorporated

In Makkah Muslims were discriminated
For their belief in Allah they were alienated
Attempts were made to have them intimidated
From many aspects of life they were segregated
Harassment towards them was advocated
Towards them violence was perpetrated
Some were tortured and subjugated
To Abyssinia some relocated
And returned when it seemed that the violence abated
But the cruelty and violence only escalated

Yathrib needed someone dedicated So that the people could be educated
In Islam and the Messenger designated
Hadrat Mus`ab whom he delegated
To where Aws and Khazraj populated
And with help from As`ad they disseminated
The teachings, with wisdom it was propagated
And with multitudes it resonated
Their fertile hearts were cultivated
With purpose their growth was stimulated
With knowledge their hearts were irrigated
And mutual respect proliferated

The worship of idols the Emigrants negated
Traversing the desert dehydrated
But with love for Allah they remained satiated
And with love of Allah they were intoxicated
So from all else they were annihilated
Averse to what devils insinuated
Across the desert they navigated
With shooting stars it was decorated

A scheme Quraysh then formulated
To have the Prophet assassinated
A murderous plot pre-mediated
But with Sayyidina `Ali he coordinated
And with God's help he evacuated
Although so many collaborated
God's Planning is perfectly orchestrated
And the kuffar were left infuriated
`Ali stood strong when interrogated
So the Prophet's distance was approximated
And his whereabouts were only speculated
Leaving the kuffar further frustrated
So they held a council and deliberated
And the Prophet's worth was understated
With one hundred camels his life was weighted
A payment for those infatuated
With the dunya, their eyes fascinated
With its charms their hearts left captivated

But in the Cave they were elevated
Their plan was quite sophisticated
Hadrat `Abdullah kept them well updated
The news in Makkah he communicated
Hadrat `amir could have been incriminated
With his herd, their tracks he dissipated
In secret Dhat an-Niqatayn operated
'Possessor of the two waistbands' when translated
She showed patience when the kuffar considered her implicated
And she made hijra while still impregnated

Harmful creatures were eradicated
By as-Siddiq who never procrastinated
In helping our Prophet he not once hesitated
With concern for our Messenger, aggravated
Was his wound, it needed to be medicated
With the Prophet's du`a his pain was mitigated
And with his saliva as well it became alleviated
A tracker then came and evaluated
That the cave of Thawr was desolated
'Had he looked down' from where he was situated
He should have seen them had he investigated
But his worldly thinking miscalculated
And how was this thinking substantiated?
That the web and the birds would be agitated
Their Maker he underestimated
In the cave they were far from isolated
In God's Book that is beautifully intonated
Allah is with us to his Companion he stated
That the unbelievers might be repudiated

Now news of this 'bounty' had circulated
And on his horse Suraqa accelerated
But when he got close he became debilitated
He pleaded and the Messenger supplicated
Then the Prophet's trust he thought he'd manipulated
But again became incapacitated
Islam's success, for Suraqa became validated
And he discouraged other trackers with words fabricated
The Sassanid army he would live to see devastated

In Yathrib believers eagerly waited
The Prophet's arrival they anticipated
From their beloved they were separated
And when he arrived they were all elated
How beautifully his hijra culminated
People came forth and congregated
Their souls became rejuvenated
Tala `al Badru they celebrated
They were filled with happiness and exhilarated

To a property his camel indicated
From the orphans it was not misappropriated
A fair price for them was negotiated
And the masjid was built where to God they prostrated

And a brotherhood for the sake of Allah was instated
Emigrants and Helpers cooperated
The Helpers graciously accommodated
With generosity they facilitated
The Emigrants to become acclimated
To become established and integrated

And a new era was inaugurated
Over Madina the Prophet administrated
Sacred Laws were legislated
And in the charter it was mandated
Freedom of faith would be tolerated
Aws and Khazraj he conciliated
A dialogue between peoples he moderated
In many disputes he mediated
And in harsher conflicts he arbitrated
Between enemies, harmony he generated
Expelled would be some who violated

Also were the hypocrites who commiserated
Doubt and discord they instigated
Muslim believers they impersonated
In attempts to have Muslim ranks infiltrated
But God's ranks can never be penetrated

And they defended against those confederated
Who at Badr wanted them decimated
But left with their army obliterated
And their morale at Khandaq deteriorated

And with wisdom in a treaty he participated
That extended to allies affiliated
And in this treaty it was stipulated
Those coming from Quraysh would be repatriated
Here more of his wisdom is inculcated
For one day Makkah would be liberated
From the chains of denial, emancipated
And the Ka'bah no longer desecrated
At the Prophet's great army their eyes fixated
But the Makkans were not humiliated
On Makkah his mercy precipitated
The Prophet never retaliated
And violence was not reciprocated
They were forgiven instead and exonerated

From his mission he never once deviated
His trust in Allah never fluctuated
Where the ignorance of shirk once dominated
He left it toppled and eliminated

From the Prophet, spiritual light emanated
And from the hijaz it permeated
The message of Tawhid radiated
Letters to leaders abroad he dictated
And around the world it reverberated

With God's Leave the Hijra was initiated
And with ikhlas it was consecrated
And with His qabul it was consummated

May the Hijra be forever commemorated
And may their efforts be well appreciated
And may these blessings and peace be duplicated
And continuously perpetuated
And on his Kin and Companions and allocated
On his descendants with whom he's related

Amin

THE EIGHTH SALAT

His Bravery

O Allah, may You perfume the grave
And send blessings and peace to Your servant most brave
Sayyidina Muhammad, by the amount he forgave
And the number of those his shafa`ah will save
The most valiant courageous, he would not be a slave
To the dunya, he taught us to renounce what we crave
In all circumstances he generously gave
And when there seemed no way, the way he would pave
With hope and trust in Allah's he'd behave
He heroically made hijra and stayed in the Cave,
And upon his Kin and Companions for they've
Stood by him against those intent to deprave
The pure, so they fought them wave after wave

Amin

THE NINTH SALAT

His Night Journey and Heavenly Ascension

O Allah, to You we repent
Send blessings and peace on the Crowned One You Sent
Whose Isra and Mi'raj was a most wondrous event
On the Buraq to the Farthest Mosque he went
Sayyidina Muhammad then made his Ascent
He saw Jannah's delight and the Fire's torment
And beyond the Lote Tree of the furthest extent
We rejoice for this pillar, no-one can dent
May You perfume his grave with the most fragrant scent
And on his Kin and Companions with whom You're content
And those in his blessed line of decent

Amin

Note: Glad tiding be to us O people of Islam. We have, By the Grace of Allah a pillar which is indestructible. [Couplet from the Burdah of Imam al-Busiri Rahimahullah]

THE TENTH SALAT

His Conquest of Makkah

O Allah, our Sovereign Lord
In You, the hopeful are never ignored
For Your blessings and peace, we have implored
To be on him through whom Your House was restored
Conquering Makkah without striking his sword
On it his mercy and forgiveness were poured
His humility and hope were directed toward
Allah, for with Him all treasures are stored
And with Allah the Almighty was his reward
Sayyidina Muhammad, and may You also accord
It upon his Kin and Companions, historians record
With him that day ten thousand marched for'd
In his Sirah the lovers never become bored
To be cut off from loving him we cannot afford
Through this love may Allah shield us from discord

Amin

THE ELEVENTH SALAT

His Continuous Deeds

O Lord, Giver of life to the dead
Grant blessings to Sayyidina Muhammad who led
In the deeds that go on when one passes ahead:
Beneficial knowledge and charity that spread
And du`a to Allah for them that are pled
And peace, by the amount his teachings are read
By the number of needy it inspires to be fed
And the number of seekers forsaking their bed
And the number of tears for Allah that are shed
And the number of salawat for him that are said,
And on his Kin and Companions, his Sunnah they tread

Amin

THE TWELFTH SALAT

His Intercession on the Day of Judgement

O Allah, through Your Grace we succeed
By the number of each and every good deed
Send blessings and peace on the one who will plead
For all the believers on a Day You've Decreed
That day his position no-one shall exceed
And upon that creed our Ummah's agreed
The leader of those who will intercede
Sayyidina Muhammad whose shafa`ah we need
Acceptance of it has been guaranteed
And from it how many from the Fire are freed!
And on his Kin and Companions who spread the Tawhid
With it may we cross the Sirat with speed

Amin
