Three Salawat `alar-Rasul
in connection to the Holy Month of Ramadan

Truly, Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O you who believe!
Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation.
(Qur'an 33:56)

O Allah the Most Merciful, may You grant blessings and peace, we appeal
To the one who recited Your Book in Ramadan with Angel Jibril

Prophet Muhammad, upon whose heart the Majestic Qur'an was revealed
Who said Allah Himself rewards fasting, and who said fasting is a shield

By the status of the warriors of Badr, may You raise high their degree!
And by the number of worshippers praying as-salatut-Tarawih

By the number of those who fast obeying their Lord the Everlasting
And the number of those who when provoked, patiently say 'I am fasting'

By the amount of every fast begun in Your Name and completed
So at each sunrise and at each sunset, these blessings may be repeated

And on his Pure Kin and Noble Companions, and all who follow his way
By this prayer please grant us Your mercy, in this life and on Judgement Day

May Allah bless him and grant him peace!

O Allah the Most Forgiving, send Your peace and blessings upon
He whose face is brighter than the moon in the midst of Ramadan

Prophet Muhammad the one who has taught us that our fasts should be
Free from useless and foul speech and any acts of indecency

By the amount You have increased the worth of every good deed
By the value of Alms and Charity given to those in need

Each letter of the Qur'an recited, each breath one fasting takes
And by the number of each request to You a supplicant makes

Each tawaf round the Ka`bah, and each ziyarah on sacred ground
By the worth of Shawwal's six fasts, which is as fasting all year round

And O Lord may these blessings and peace also be upon his Kin
And Companions, by this prayer please forgive our every sin

May Allah bless him and grant him peace!

O Allah the Pardoner, blessings and peace we ask You to shower
By the worth You've multiplied worship on the blessed Night of Power

On Prophet Muhammad the one who told us of a joyful reward
Joy when the one fasting completes his fast and joy when he meets his Lord

And these blessings and peace O Most Forbearing, we ask that You repeat
For every moment Your servants spend in spiritual retreat (i'tikaf)

By each morsel that completes the fast; each sip of water and each date
And by the number of those who enter Paradise through Fasting's Gate

And by the number of those who go out seeking the new moon crescent
And for each takbir on `Eid and the giving of every present

Blessings and peace be on his Pure Kin and Noble Companions as well
By this prayer, please grant us salvation from the Punishment of Hell

May Allah bless him and grant him peace!
